SHADES OF JADE

Frozen, lined with a gleam, and turned into stone. So much care spent, once so coveted, it’s unthinkable they'd eventually meet an end. I felt them so alive then, and now they surround me, all wasted, so still yet beautifully inert. Crystallized in time as they once were—fervent, dreadful of decay. Today, it seems as if time was idly thrown away, but now I see them piled up in this room inside my head—bright and sea-green, a gallery of all that mattered, bathed in preserved shades of jade.
